My story:

The first time I held a ball in clay, I knew my life was forever changed. Was it the clay or the idea that I would make a three-dimensional sculpture that excited me the more? It was challenging to say because I enjoy other sculpting mediums, too. I only knew I was created to do this as it loudly resonated with my spirit. In the words of a student in a recent workshop, she exclaimed: ”Clay is so forgiving!” I can allow my heart to wonder if that might not be the reason for my fondness. It reminds me of my Father.

Teachers who can guide you with this medium are scarce, and after a couple of hit and-miss appointments, I decided to allow the Holy Spirit to teach me. I started facilitating my first clay workshop a month and a half later. I have had years of studio teaching experience to use as a grid as I ventured on this new path, especially working with big groups.

The workshops escalated into Prophetic Clay workshops where I would lead and minister into encounter territory with Jesus. We would unpack each spirit, soul, and body on the journey and allow the Lord to shift mindsets. This is so beautiful to witness.

But I know I have a set appointment in the alone times when we draw the studio door closed behind me. As soon as I start working, wedging, building, and rolling the clay, the Lord starts speaking, and a handy notebook is necessary to jot down critical points lest I forget. Here time flies, as the Lord has not yet revealed the time pause button. I do not get hungry or thirsty because it genuinely feels like He is sustaining me from another dimension.

A hopeful dream is to organize a nationwide art fair for Jesus’s followers. Upmarket, like the Kingdom is, full of joy. A beautiful gathering. I want to exhibit my musing of clay carved with hands in the hands of Jesus. So that His voice could be heard. My heart is to make the spirit life plain and understandable. To reflect passion and righteousness.

For now, I shall practice every day to make life my prayer.
